2020 began with the appointment of our new Musical Director

We gave a very warm welcome to our new Musical Director Owain Gethin Davies. He joined us at a time when the choir enjoyed a memorable time with his predecessor Tudur Eames. Tudur parted with the choir at our last concert of 2019 to pursue a new career as Director of Music for Gwynedd and Anglesey and we wish him well for the future in this roll. He became psrt of the music team with our accompanist Anne Levitt. So now its time for our new Musical Director to shape the choir in his vision for our future. We have new members who have joined recently so this is an ideal time for any new prospective choristers to come along to see if this rewarding experience is for them.

Since January 2020 Owain Gethin, a Deputy Head in Ysgol y Creuddyn with a wealth of experience in music education, has taken up the post as Musical Director of Colwyn Male Voice Choir. When he isn’t conducting he likes to accompany on the piano his former pupils and friends in local concerts, go to the gym, walk in the local area and he plays the organ in his church Capel Seilo in Llandudno. His belief is that choral singing is a universal language that has the power to bring people together in times of need is infectious.
