The Blind Veterans Centre, Llandudno and St Mary’s Church Wirksworth

The Choir outside St Mary’s Church Wirksworth

The choir travelled to Wirksworth in Derbyshire on the 22nd of June to sing at a charity concert. The proceeds of which went equally to two charities. The Nightingale Macmillan Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital and the Derbyshire, Leicester and Rutland Air Ambulance.

The concert was organised by Joanne Flint and the church was full to capacity with a very warm and appreciative audience. The choir thoroughly enjoyed the trip on a warm evening, the early start allowing us to get back at a reasonable hour.

Thanks to Joanne and her mother for their hard work and inviting us to sing in St Mary’s Church Wirksworth on what is a biannual charity event. We wish them well in future events.

The Choir at the Blind Veterans Centre, Llandudno

On Wednesday the 3rd of July the choir had the great please to sing at the Blind Veterans Centre in Llandudno for the residents and guests. This was part of their annual music week where all things musical are planned including a trip to the Llangollen Eisteddfod in the same week.

This is the second time for the choir at this venue having also sung there two years ago. An appreciative audience who enjoyed not only the choir but also six of our soloists who entertained individually. The concert was also enjoyable for the choir and soloists in the concert room which has a high ceiling, wooden beamed apex roof, with superb acoustics.

Also an opportunity for a photograph in front of this impressive building.
