Saturday the 11th June at St John’s Methodist Church Llandudno hosted the joint concert between the choir and the Northop Silver Band. There is something special in a joint concert with a brass band and a male voice choir and this was evident in the reaction from the audience especially in the joint pieces. Both centuries old institutions borne out from working people who came together to create music during sometimes difficult times. Today in different times the basic principles remain the same where people from society come together in an amateur status to create music for the entertainment of others. Both the Northop Silver Band and Cor Meibion Colwyn have this history in their longevity and are fine examples of their respective traditions. The two have shared the concert stage many times before and will combine to give a fine night of music. A special concert in the beautiful setting of this welcoming church in the heart of Llandudno.
